His Trophy
2 Corinthians 2:14 (Amplified)
But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere,
It was actually his now. Never missing a practice and spending hours of shooting baskets with dad had paid off. His trophy wasn’t just something that was given to him for nothing. It was his because he had made a contribution to a team that had won the championship. He had even scored points in the final game. Holding it felt so good as it represented a victory towards which he had given so much effort. Though there was a moment when the victory was won, for him that triumph would continue to be his every time he pulled it out and showed it off.
As we take our place in Christ, there is so much more going between us and our Father than we can begin to comprehend. The God of all creation, the One who hung the stars in the heavens, the One who placed everything in incredible majesty and splendor from the grandest galaxy to the minutest detail, holds each one of us up as His victory trophies. There is an immeasurable amount of importance He has placed on securing our success and fulfillment in life. He has planned, prepared, and performed His most impressive acts in order to present each one of us as the trophies of Jesus’ victory. He will never cease to provide a triumphant leading that, as we follow, will bring glory and honor to Him as the conquering King of kings and Lord of lords.
His plan and His purpose of establishing His presence in the earth is directly connected to us taking our place in Christ. It is by us, held up as healthy, victorious, successful, joyful, loving, overcoming, peaceful trophies, that have been transformed into the image of His Son, He has chosen to show off His greatest achievement. No pressure or anything– just possibilities and opportunity.
