Did you write this just for me? At first, the real estate reference caught my eye, because, as you know, I have bought and sold more than a few homes, over the years. After reading the entire article, however, I was reminded of the both the "Andy" and, the "Barney" in myself. I have certainly been motivated by my "Barney" and tempted as Andy was to make the "business-like" decision and not point out, to a potential buyer, all of a home's potential flaws. I have also lost more than a few sales, over the years, by doing so. In several cases, after losing a very good buyer to the disclosure of a potential flaw in a home, I have had to significantly lower the price of the property before finally selling it to someone else, many months later. At such times, the old expression, "no good deed goes unpunished" does its best to pop into your head, yet I have received so much more peace listening to my "Opie" than to my "Barney". Additionally, I have found that the Lord is so faithful as He has always provided that which we need to be sustained. He is certainly the God of "More Than Enough". I pray that we could all continue listening to the "Opie" instilled in our hearts by our most-mercifull God.
May He continue to bless you, Pastor Steve, and your entire family with the richest of all His blessings.
Merry Christmas

How well I remember another occassion in Aurora at a surplus store, I was about to buy some things for the church. Arriving at the counter, I found that to buy these articles, the purchaser had to be a non-profit school.

Returning the articles to the bins, I made comment to another Opie, that I could probably buy them through the school at Aurora 1st Assembly. The response from my Opie was; "Dad, that wouldn't be honest!". Nothing further was needed for me to discard the bad idea and go home.

With all the decisions that have to be made, I am sure that my "Big Opie" will, from the integrity of his heart, make the right one.

Love,
