For all those that will discover the land of wonder, the abundant life, fulfillment, and their life's purpose, there is a common attitude, a common willingness. Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Peter, Jesus, Columbus, Lewis and Clark all had to leave what was comfortable and established in order to discover these things. They all had to not only take their eyes off what lay behind, but actually take off and leave it in order to discover the greatness that waited before them. It wasn't enough for them to just desire the discovery of the new; they had to let go of the old. They could have each come upon great revelation of future potentials. They could have written endless volumes of detailed information documenting this acquired wealth of knowledge. What really defined their discovery, however, was the simple willingness to humbly let go of present possessions to discover the place that only their step of faith could take them. Waiting in every day is a discovery of life that has been provided in Christ. He came to give us life and life more abundantly. While the steps already taken have each been precious and essential in finding the abundance already acquired, today's discovery will remain undiscovered without the essential willingness to leave this place to which we've come. It's from glory to glory that we are taken, and this requires a departure from the present glory in order to follow Him to the next. The life of worship is a life that touches every moment. For the presence of God to bring the transformation we desire, however, there will always be a need for leaving something that is a part of the old life, the old way. There is a great glory to be discovered, and anything let go of will be replaced by something much better. There is a mountaintop; there is a pristine land of beauty and resource; there is a relationship; there is power and ability; there is authority; there is freedom and liberty; there is wisdom and understanding. It's a discovery that will only be found in letting go of the old life. Discovering a new way of living….
