In the Script Ecc 7:29 Lo, this only I have found, that God has made man upright, but they have sought out many inventions. How beautiful the script for his life and how wonderful his conception and birth. Now, if only that script could be followed and that beauty preserved. There is, however, this natural tendency for additions and addendums to be added to what had been perfect in its original state. It's like there is this continual offering of alternate scripts, some of which are chosen and some of which are purposefully rejected. That heavenly written document, though, that had described a rather enjoyable and prosperous existence is obscured by these other ill-conceived and poorly written attempts at life direction. Layered over the perfection is the story line that leads to a very disappointing ending. In viewing certain suspenseful movies, such as the Indiana Jones or the MI series, there is a tendency to trust that, even though there is this impossible scenario facing Dr. Jones, such as an impassable ravine or host of adversaries, he will somehow make it through all the way to the end of the story successfully. He, of course, has to- it's in the script. And, one can be assured that even though the mission is impossible that Tom Cruise will find some far-fetched and extravagant way to accomplish the unthinkable and end up with the woman and a smile on his face. There really is no option- it's in the script. Wouldn't it be interesting, though, if there was an attempt at a movie where the actors got to come up with their own scripts for each scene? Surely there would be a quite different result, whether successful or not. There is no way it could ever be just like the original direction of the screenplay. The hero might not be able to really come up with even an unbelievable route through the firefight or the scorching desert. It's really not the part of the actor to come up with the direction in the middle of the production. There is most frequently a great dependence upon what has been written way before the actors were cast or the sets constructed. There really is a design for each of our lives that has continuity and purpose in each of its phases and scenes. This script has been written and recorded far before we came along to act the part for which we were chosen. Though it is waiting to be read and followed at any point in life, there are a plethora of competing options that have often been sought out instead. Though the perfection that was meant for all of life may have been compromised somewhat by these other 'inventions', there is a wonderful aspect of the master script that makes way for its reintroduction at any point in the production. And, our Master script writer has the ability to take all those alternate choices and use them for a story line that leads to a victorious and gratifying conclusion, no matter when His way is chosen. His right way is one that can take everything that was written for destruction and failure and turn it into a story of redemption. For all who return to His script the chasm will be traversed, the mountain ascended, and the fall landed without mishap. There really is no option- it's in the script. 11/13/06
