Right Here and Right Now Col 1:27, " To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:" It's interesting that, while hope has something to do with the future, it will not effectively exist without a present resource of vision and commitment. Without hope the young baseball player will never make it through his first season, let alone ever reach the major leagues. Without hope there is no possibility for the newlywed couple to make it through their first year, let alone to the golden years. The discovery of the researching scientist will never be fulfilled beyond his ability to hope. For each of these it isn't enough to just have a fantasy dream of what might take place in the future. For hope to exist there must be a belief in the present resource abiding within. Even though the young athlete has much development and growth between his present state and stardom, he must be convinced of his present potential every time he throws a ball or swings a bat. The young couple must believe in the love that presently exists, that it will cover and conquer any differences, and that it will carry them to the "happily-ever-after" life. The scientist must believe that his intuition and knowledge will uncover that new technology, formula, or method if he is to try yet again. Any future greatness requires present belief, faith, and vision. There is this life of liberty, abundance and success that Jesus came to give. It is a life that touches our every moment and our every passion. Awareness of this life alone, however, will not bring to pass the experience of it. "Hoping" that things will change and that somehow enough belief and speaking will bring it to pass will not be enough. For hope to be involved in bringing any promise of Christ to pass, it must be rooted and grounded in the present if it will ever really be seen in the future. The greatness of our outward, future potential in Him will never get past the present vision of who He is right here and now on the inside. As fellowship with Him brings this to pass, as His true nature of love is revealed by His Word in the spirit, there will be this ever growing resource of hope based upon this "fullness" of God, right here and right now. Care of this resource will become the diligent occupation of him/her who would aspire to live the promise of life in Christ. Christ in you– right here and right now-what a future, what a hope. 11/15/05
