Fire Commitment Mic 4:13 On your feet, Daughter of Zion! Be threshed of chaff, be refined of dross. I'm remaking you into a people invincible, into God's juggernaut to crush the godless peoples. You'll bring their plunder as holy offerings to GOD, their wealth to the Master of the earth. Somehow in the refiners fire and in the discipline of righteousness there is a power attained that can be found in no other way. This power's purpose and motive is also quite defined. It is to inflict damage on our foe and lift the spoils of his defeat as an offering of worship and praise to the only true God. Though referred to in short terms here, there is a necessity for prolonged adjustment of lifestyle for this attaining of power. Just as the musician comes to a point where he is inspired to begin the discipline and practice for technical perfection, it is not normally attained until an extended amount of time and devotion have been dedicated to this process. This promise of attaining, though, is a major motivation for the commitment to this refiner's fire. In order to make the necessary choices that will set aside other diversions in favor of this higher priority, there must be an established and clear vision of the rewards it will bring. There is an assurance of invincibility, but the even greater force in this drive for excellence would be the presentation of holy offerings to the Master, the very Passion of the heart. While there may be many discouragements in this fire and while there may be many temptations to divert from its singular path, there is this driving force in the thought of its purpose for the road to be stayed to and for the way to remain righteous. What a strong desire and hope there can be that just grows stronger when the heart and the soul's meditation is on the demonstration of the power and goodness of God that will come as a result of compliance and passion for His righteousness. May this be the embrace of the heart and may this be the atmosphere that surrounds each morning and every planning time, that there may be progress towards His heart. 2/11/04
