Dream Living Lying softly in early morn's light, A smile is gently dancing, A movement here, a movement there And eyes beneath lids roaming Sights and sounds must be taking place Of unlimited adventure Within her lovely, glowing face A scene of her own making What thought, what word, what strong desire Could have inspired this scene? Should there be found in so few days A source for now these things? Such a mystery, this dream now forming And someday could it be That the substance of these lofty ways Will in her life be seen? From the earliest days of living there is inspiration being taken inside the mind that will form the substance of a dream. Everything that is experienced contributes to this reservoir and will be readily available for usage. Often the most recent entry, such as a movie scene, a strenuous task, or a thrilling ride at a park will be the most prominent elements in its creation. But, sometimes an experience or a face from long, long ago will reemerge to play a part. Most of the time these dreams that take place in our sleep are experienced and forgotten, but once in awhile there is an inspiration that goes beyond waking and into the reality of living. Actually living what has been dreamed can be a very extraordinary experience in itself. While there are dreams that take place during the unconscious moments of sleep, there are also dreams that are fed by the same sources of life experience, but are taken into the reservoir of the spirit from which they are used to form a dream for waking life. These dreams are dreams of the heart and, though, possessed by everyone, are found to only have real substance as they are fed by the real source of life in Jesus. It will never be the dreams of self-indulgence that will bring joy and fulfillment, but those that draw on the resources of a love nature only found in Jesus. Hard work may bring about the apparent success and fulfillment of any dream, but true life will only be known in living the dream His love inspires. Those who haven't found this realm of love in Jesus may find it impossible to understand a fulfilled dream life as their own dreams remain dormant or have produced the perverted substance of their source. Psalm 112:9 is a great description of the dream life of one who draws on the words and touch of life from the Father's presence: Psa 112:1 Hallelujah! Blessed man, blessed woman, who fear GOD, Who cherish and relish his commandments, Psa 112:2 Their children robust on the earth, And the homes of the upright--how blessed! Psa 112:3 Their houses brim with wealth And a generosity that never runs dry. Psa 112:4 Sunrise breaks through the darkness for good people-- God's grace and mercy and justice! Psa 112:5 The good person is generous and lends lavishly; Psa 112:6 No shuffling or stumbling around for this one, But a sterling and solid and lasting reputation. Psa 112:7 Unfazed by rumor and gossip, Heart ready, trusting in GOD, Psa 112:8 Spirit firm, unperturbed, Ever blessed, relaxed among enemies, Psa 112:9 They lavish gifts on the poor-- A generosity that goes on, and on, and on. An honored life! A beautiful life! Psa 112:10 Someone wicked takes one look and rages, Blusters away but ends up speechless. There's nothing to the dreams of the wicked. Nothing. (The Message) Upon arriving at the last two sentences of the 10th verse it can be seen that all this blessing for the godly and lack thereof for the wicked is really all about dreams. If the source for the heart's dream is God and His Word, there will be an awe-inspiring experience of abundant life in Jesus. If, however, the source of the heart's dream is wicked indulgences, there can only be speechless rage when it is observed next to the dream of righteousness. A life of worshiping the Father will not just be a life of seclusion and separation, but it will be a life where the greatest God-inspired dreams are fulfilled in His favor. The world and selfish influence will only suppress and extinguish the God-given dream and its enjoyment, but there is a way to nurture and revive it in abiding and savoring the presence of the Father. He will always lift to better and greater days and living the dreams He inspires in worship will be the greatest of adventures. 3/11/04
