Drawn Heb 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. :39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. There had really been a connection there, you know, one of those kindred spirit things. It seemed like a true lifelong relationship was in the making, as there really wasn’t anything that would keep them from wanting to just hang out and enjoy being with each other. From playing football to rooming together in college, it was almost as if they were brothers from different mothers. Then, without either of them really noticing, they began to draw back from what had once been such a rewarding relationship. It wasn’t like they were upset or frustrated with each other, there were just other interests that began to require them to spend their time in other ways. Occupied with work, family, and different interests, the voice mails that had once got a quick response were increasingly delayed, and the thoughts that had frequently considered the other, were rarely where they had once been. The soul has an opportunity to greatly enjoy relationship with the Friend that sticks closer than a brother. While He has promised to always be there within reach and within whisper range, there is a drawing away from the promise of reward in His presence for the one that either purposefully or quite unknowingly finds himself or herself occupied with cares of life that cause delays in response to His instant messages. For one to truly live the life of faith that makes it possible for the Father to be pleased in the return of His great investment in us, the responsibility of drawing nigh will always be that of each of us who would find our greatest delight in the wonder of His nearness.
